A big victory for the members of local lodge 869 and District 11
The security agents from Rolls-Royce, members of Local Lodge 869 and District 11, won an historical case in arbitration.
The members had been layed off permentaley by the employer in November 2015, following a business decision to subcontract the security of the site.
Luc Morasse, business agent for District 11, immediately filed a grievance, demanding reinstatement of the employees.
The case was heard in August before an arbitrator, and he issued its decision in early October. He acknowledged that the employer had acted illegally, and that the employees should be reinstated.
Congratulations to the committee, with the help of Luc Morasse and lawyer, Michael Cohen.
